The Appomattox County School Board says they don’t want a newly adopted “Opportunity Educational Institution Board.” Earlier this year, Gov. Bob McDonnell approved legislation to create the OEI Board, which would oversee certain schools falling behind expected standards, but members say the committee diminishes the role of local school boards and they will support a lawsuit filed against the state. Appomattox Middle School is accredited but with a warning.
