Driving fast, authorities say, is to blame for a fatal crash, on Route 501, Monday (June 9). Virginia State Police say the crash, at the intersection of Route 501 and Bobock Road in Campbell County claimed the lives of, 21 year-old Cliff B. Maresco, and 24 year-old Trinity D. Burks, when Maresco apparently lost control of his Motorcycle and crashed into Burks vehicle, causing it to overturn. Maresco died at the scene. Burks was taken to Lynchburg General Hospital, where she later died. Authorities say it appears speeding was a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
