The Appomattox Relay for Life event will be held tonight at Bragg Stadium. It’s a fundraiser for cancer research, and it begins at 6 pm. At 7 pm, cancer survivors will walk a lap around the track. After that, caregivers and family members of the survivors will walk a lap. At 9 pm, they’ll have a luminaria ceremony, where candles are lit in honor of a person who has died of cancer. Names of cancer victims will be read aloud during the ceremony. About 350 people took part in the Relay for Life last year.
