LONGWOOD DROPS DECISIONS ON DAY ONE OF DISNEY CITRUS CLASSIC
ORLANDO, Fla. – The Longwood University softball team faced setbacks in its first two games of the Disney Citrus Classic on Friday in Orlando, Florida at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. The Lancers fell, 5-2, against Boston College (4-2) in their afternoon game before dropping a 3-2 decision against Fairfield University (3-2) in the nightcap. LU was paced by sophomore Megan Baltzell/Stafford, who went 5-for-7 at the plate, including one home run and two RBI. Longwood will play another pair of games tomorrow, Saturday, March 2, on day two of the three-day event, squaring off against Syracuse University at 10 a.m. and the University of Louisville at 2:30 p.m.
