A fire heavily damaged a home in Appomattox County yesterday afternoon.

A fire department spokesman says the fire started in the bedroom of the residence in the 3000 block of Liberty Chapel Road. The fire damaged the bedroom, while the rest of the home sustained smoke and water damage.

There’s no word on the cause of the blaze. The fire is not suspicious in nature says the spokesman.
