RICHMOND, Va. (AP) – The winter storm that blew through Virginia on its way into the Northeast has left three people dead in the state. The storm dumped up to 20 inches of snow in central and western Virginia but largely bypassed northern Virginia and several major cities even though thousands were left without power.
RICHMOND, Va. (AP) – More than two dozen people have testified at the latest in a series of public hearings on Virginia’s new abortion clinic regulations. The State Board of Health conducted the hearing Thursday. Another is set for Tuesday in Alexandria.
DINWIDDIE, Va. (AP) – Gov. Bob McDonnell says a trooper involved in a shooting along Interstate 85 in Dinwiddie County has died. McDonnell says 40-year state police veteran Master Trooper Junius Walker was shot while on duty on Thursday and a suspect is under arrest. Charges are pending.
ALEXANDRIA, Va. (AP) – A trio of CIA contractors has agreed to pay $3 million to settle a whistleblower case accusing the companies of plying CIA employees with gifts to win contracts. The settlement was announced Thursday by federal prosecutors in Alexandria.
