Prince Edward Boys Varsity Soccer Defeats Cumberland

Prince Edward Varsity Boys team traveled to Cumberland for the first game of the season. The Eagles started the game confident, creating chances. In the 10th minute Jordan Conwell found Henry inside the box who scored his first goal of the game. Two minutes later, Henry converted a penalty kick awarded for a hand ball inside the box. Cumberland managed to score once on a counterattack, after 24 minutes from the start, but Prince Edward looked undisturbed in their quest. Two minutes before the half, Nikolos Reinson dribbled the ball on the left side, crossed it in and forced an own goal. In the second half, the Eagles continued to press forward. Three minutes after restart Brady Atkins found Henry inside the box, he turned the ball and then he finished his hattrick with a shot in the far left corner. The next to score was Liam Burke in the 60th minute assisted by Colton Sheehan and then Kyle Burns closed the scoring in the 71st minute. AJ Stringfellow played keeper for 55 minutes and produced a save, then Rafael Dimaano stepped in the goal for the rest of the game, also saving one shot.
Final score: Cumberland 1 – Prince Edward 6. Congratulation Eagles! Come and support us Friday when we host Buckingham.
