Allen, Luerine

Mrs. Luerine Allen, 73, of Richmond and formerly of Cumberland died Saturday in Richmond. A funeral service will be held Sunday at 2 pm at Rocky Mount Baptist Church, Cumberland, with interment in the church cemetery. Public viewing will be held Saturday from 10 am – 8 pm at the funeral home. Marian Gray Thomas Funeral Home of Cumberland is serving the family.

Carter, Evelyn

A funeral service for Mrs. Evelyn Carter of Richmond, formerly of Meherrin, sister of Elizabeth Lyles Harper of Meherrin, will be held on Saturday at 11 am from the Rising  Zion Baptist Church 2705 Hartman Street, Richmond, with interment in Oakwood Cemetery in Richmond. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6 – 7 pm at March Funeral Home, Richmond. Announced locally by The Carl U. Eggleston Funeral Establishment.

Copeland, James

Mr. James Copeland, age 72, died Wednesday in Richmond. A funeral service will be held Sunday, February 14th, at 3 pm from the New Life Assembly of God in Cumberland with interment in the Green Creek New Site Baptist Church cemetery in Cumberland. Public viewing will be held on Saturday from 2 – 7 pm from the Carl U. Eggleston Funeral Establishment.

Elam, James Henry, Sr.

Mr. James Henry Elam, Sr., age 83 of Beltsville, Maryland and formerly of Saxe, died February 4th in Maryland. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 13th, at 11 am at White Oak Grove Baptist Church in Phenix, with interment in the church cemetery. Viewing begins Friday from 12 noon until 7 pm. at the funeral home. Arrangements are by Jeffress Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Brookneal.

Shepherdson, Woodrow

Mr. Woodrow Shepherdson, age 71, formerly of Farmville died on Tuesday in Richmond. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Carl U. Eggleston Funeral Establishment.

Simpson, Ruth Pearl Kelsey

Ruth Pearl Kelsey Simpson, age 101, of Prospect died at her home on February 11. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 13th, at 11 am in Appomattox PE Presbyterian Church.
