Brown, Mrs. Burnell

Mrs. Burnell Brown, age 73, formerly of Buckingham County, died Monday in Washington, D. C. She was the sister of Joe Baker and Dexter Cox. A funeral service will be held Monday at 1 pm at Zion Baptist Church in Dillwyn, with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The remains will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service. Public viewing at the funeral home will be held Sunday from 2 – 7 pm. Reid’s Funeral Home of Dillwyn is serving the family.

Daniels, Shirley

Mrs. Shirley Daniels, age 84, of Dillwyn, died on Wednesday in Farmville. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be made later by Carl U. Eggleston Funeral Establishment of Farmville.

Freeland, Joe Clinton

Joe Clinton Freeland, 78, of Keysville, died Wednesday, July 29th. A funeral service will be held at 1 pm, Saturday, August 1st, at the Browning-Duffer Funeral Home, with interment to follow in the Union Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:30 to 8 pm, Friday, July 31st.

Harvey, Angelo Kinte

Mr. Angelo Kinte Harvey, age 38 of Pamplin, died on Wednesday in Farmville. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be given later by Carl U. Eggleston Funeral Establishment of Farmville.

Oliver, James

Mr. James Oliver, age 89, formerly of Buckingham, died Monday in Brooklyn, New York. A funeral service will be held Saturday at 2 pm at Fork Union Baptist Church in Buckingham with interment in the church cemetery. The remains will lie in state one prior to the service. Public viewing will be Friday from 5 – 7 pm at Reid’s Funeral Home in Dillwyn.

Scott, Gladys Etta Jackson

Mrs. Gladys Etta Jackson Scott, age 74, died Friday in Farmville. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Bland-Reid Funeral Home in Farmville.

Tyree, Wilfred J., Sr.

Mr. Wilfred J. Tyree, Sr., age 88 of Cartersville died on Thursday, July 30. A funeral notice will be given later by Marian Gray Thomas Funeral Home of Cumberland.

Webb, Richard L.

Mr. Richard L. Webb, age 67, formerly of Charlotte Court House, died Sunday, July 26th in Baltimore, Maryland. He was the brother of Mr. Willie Webb. A funeral service will be held Monday, August 3, at 10:30 am, at Vaughn-Greene Funeral Home in Baltimore, Maryland. Viewing will be held on Sunday, August 2, from 2 – 6 pm at the funeral home. Announced locally by Jeffress Funeral Home of Charlotte Court House.
