Lucy O. Bailey, 85, of Farmville died Monday in Farmville. She was the step-mother of Billy Bailey, III, and wife, Melissa, of Farmville. A funeral service will be held Saturday, February 28th, from the Chapel of Shorter Funeral Home at 11 am. Interment will be in Fort Hill Cemetery, Lynchburg. The family will receive friends Friday, February 27th, from 6:30 – 8:30 pm at Shorter Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Randolph Volunteer Fire Department, Cumberland County.

Patton, Bishop Robert J.
Bishop Robert J. Patton, age 80 of Gladstone, died Monday in Lynchburg. He was the Bishop and Overseer of the Deliverance Churches of Christ. He is survived by his wife, Rev. Lena Patton and children, Vonette Jones, Robrett, Emil and Rayvon Patton. A funeral service will be held Saturday at 12 noon at the gymnasium of Buckingham County High School with interment is the Deliverance Church of Christ cemetery. The remains will lie in state at the school for one hour prior to the service. Public viewing at the funeral home Friday from 10 am – 7 pm. Reid’s Funeral Home of Dillwyn is in charge.
