Announcers  Meet our on-air talent!

 Francis Wood presents two shows on WFLO FM from Monday through Friday. From 6:30-10:00 a.m. he hosts "The Morning Show" and from 12:15-1:00 p.m. he hosts "Lunch Break." Francis can also be heard on WFLO AM from 8:00-9:00am on Tuesdays and Thursdays presenting Call Flo. Prior to working at WFLO, Francis was an announcer for WLES-AM in Lawrenceville, VA, from 1970-1971. These days Francis is the General Manager of WFLO overseeing all areas of broadcasting for WFLO AM/FM in Farmville. His involvement in the local community currently involves a seat on the board of the Farmville Chamber of Commerce.  Henry is the vice president, treasurer and co-owner of Colonial Broadcasting Company Incorperated. He's been playing country, bluegrass, and gospel music since 1956. Henry has also been a guest on the popular television show Hee Haw and featured on Norman Vincent Peale's "American Character". Some of his awards are broadcaster of the year in 1984, listed as one of the "outstanding men of country music", named "Virginia's friend of country music", given the distinguished service award by the Farmville Jaycees, and has been made an honorary member of the Tom Mix Rangers of Virginia. He is married to a wonderful lady named Joyce and has a beautiful daughter whos name is Kristi.

 Chris Wood is the Program Director for WFLO and her
responsibilites include wiring, scheduling announcers, arranging
programming for both WFLO AM and FM, producing commercials, and
part-time sales. She is one of the on-air personalities hosting the

Steve Leonard hosts the Saturday Beach Show from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. on WFLO FM. Prior to joining WFLO Steve worked with B103.7, Lite 98, and EZ 100.5. Steve was awarded the Outstanding Virginian by the Virginia Jaycees and has received commendations for community service from President Clinton, Governor George Allen, and Tom Bliley.  Christopher Brochon is the assistant to the General Manager and his duties cover everything from writing ad copy to repairing the plumbing. He is also a WFLO on-air personality when his services are required; usually from 1 to 3 pm on WFLO-AM bringing you the old time radio broadcasts. Chris is a member of the Waterworks Theater board and occasionally appears on the stage. He chaired the Heart of Virginia Festival board for four years including the 25th anniversary. Novey W. Wiley, Sr. is the host of Novey Wiley Gospel from 9:00
a.m.-10:00 a.m. Prior to joining WFLO he was a gospel radio announcer
at WPAK for 15 years.
Novey is a church pastor and is involved in the local community through the Save of Our Children Coalition, an outreach ministry from the Spirit of Life Church of God in Christ. |
